Lesson 1 went really well. Elementary students love to move, so this lesson had many opportunities for them to do that. The lessons focus was on basketball with a particular focus on dribbling where students were taught the difference between their dominant and non-dominant hands. We also spent considerable amounts of time differentiating and modeling the proper way to dribble with the fingertips instead of the palm. The students enjoyed the lesson because it connected them to a sport that most of them were familiar with and it had little room for students to wait in line.

This lesson was one of my favorite lessons to teach. The students, although they did not want to dance at first, really enjoyed the lesson as it progressed. The macarena and the electric slide were simple enough that the students were able to relax and follow along. For those students who did not get the steps at first, I modeled the dance steps next to them and provided more intensive/personalized instruction for them.

This lesson had the most behavioral concerns of all the lessons that I have taught during my clinical teaching. The students were overly excited to participate in the parachute activity that I had to frequently stop the lesson and/or redirect unwanted behavior as it occurred. Eventually after ironing out all the behavioral concerns, the students paid attention to the lesson as planned, and learned how to collaboratively accomplish tasks.

This lesson, and all other lessons to follow, had a really good flow in the setting that I taught it in. The students were used to the rotational routine, but had never had an activity station where they were doing different agility ladder sequences. The students were not familiar with the exercises, so it took them a while before they began truly enjoying and challenging themselves.

Most students have never done any form of yoga, so this lesson was extremely different from anything the students were used to; however, I was extremely surprised at how well received the lesson was. An additional step was added to this lesson where I turned off the lights and only had the projector screen on as the video played. I enjoyed teaching this lesson because of the challenging and detailed questions that the students had because they were learning something new.

Circuit training is the focus of this lesson. The students really enjoyed the lesson but the activities challenged them. I think for the next time I would reduce the number of stations from 7 to about 4, so that students had more time on each activity. I also had to adjust the lesson by adding yoga mats and weightlifting floor pads to the concrete that was available in the loading dock area as the students complained about their hands and knees hurting. Overall, the students had a lot of fun warming up and getting to understand more about circuit training.
