Reflection
Delicious is a very-handy bookmarking tool that was used in the planning phases of creating a technology-rich unit plan. This assignment aligns with the second technology standard as it encouraged me to use technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.
The Chapter 9 Smore activity was focused on creating a space that discussed how teachers could used technology to connect the many different facets of a students education. I had fun designing and summarizing the content of the chapter. The IRIS Assistive Technology Module identified a myriad of resources that are available for students who need assistive technologies to succeed in school. It aligns with the Texas tech. standard 2 because it provides information for teachers to synthesize knowledge and create programs that support student work.
The TEASe is arguably one of my all time favorite assignments thus far in my education. It required that I demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the content, discipline, and related pedagogy as demonstrated through the quality of the design. It matches the Texas tech. standard 5 as it required the planning, organizing, delivering, and evaluating of instruction for all students while incorporating the effective use of current technology for teaching.
The Collage Project meets the beginner teacher standard #4 because it is an effective method to organize information to maximize student learning. It adheres to the Texas tech. standard number 1 because it encourages the use of technology-related strategies and data input strategies to create a concise representation of the information.
The graphing activity taught me to use formal and informal methods to assess student growth using technology. It also taught me how to use these technologies to create lessons that also encouraged students to effectively use technology to represent data.
This project taught me some of, what I believe will be, the most lasting things that I have learned in this class. I am made more aware of the rules and requirements of using the work of others for my own purposes. It meets standard 6 of the beginner teacher standards as it teaches the necessity of using correct methods to use the work of others when collaborating. Essentially, it teaches the professional practices and responsibilities that should be adhered to when using the work of others. It matches the first standard of the Texas tech. standards as it teaches ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications.
